Help me give my students supplies to help them practice new concepts at home. Most do not have books or basic supplies to read, create and practice new things at home.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My "Littles" started the year out timid and quiet. They live in an urban, economically depressed area with few parks and play areas. They are a mix of inquisitive 4 year olds that speak both English and Spanish. They quickly learn that I want them to speak and share with me their thoughts no matter the language they choose. For their parents, I invite them to do the same. Communication is the ladder I build throughout the year to help my little people have fun and reach for whatever stars they see in the sky. My students and their families are eager to learn and this school year has been to be our most challenging. I’m trying to think about things one day at a time and build confidence in my class to feel safe in trying new things at home with their families.
My Project
Parents often feel isolated and do not know how to exactly help at home. After I use these materials to teach, I will ask parents to try to do the same things at home.
For example, as my class continues to e-learn a home, I'd like them to try things like counting and then drawing.
New letters and sounds can be written and made using clay to help their little hands get stronger as they make individual letters for their names and then new words. As they learn sounds, students can trace and write those letters to string together new words.
New books will encourage little eyes to explore and parents to read with their child. These materials will make learning fun and encourage a family to do that together.
