My Project

I am a literacy interventionist at a middle school, and I work with students who are working to close the learning gap. Students in the middle school grades especially struggle with comprehending nonfiction texts. Receiving high interest books at accessible reading levels at lower Lexile levels will help Learning Acceleration by encouraging students to increase reading practice and through that, build fluency, vocabulary, and exposure to nonfiction text structures. By building my classroom library with books students can read and that cover thought-provoking topics, students will read and achieve personal success with books.
