My students are elementary students from a Title I school learning to play their instruments of choice and producing/composing music on free trial music software (which I hope to also possibly be able to fund). For most of my students, coming to school is the only option for them to be enrich with playing an instrument let alone music. As a music teacher, I am trying to keep music alive in education and help merge music with technology as this is a way to equip my students for the future and also for them to have more fun doing so.
My Project
My students would love to integrate their keyboards with technology! These midi adapters will allow students to plug in their keyboards to their Chromebooks to allow them to play, compose, beat make and learn notes at their own pace. I am also in need of power adapters for their keyboards as mine are extremely old (15 years) and are breaking. Students are having to take turns on a keyboard or changing to different instruments due to the short amount of power adapters. With the possibility of each student having a keyboard, midi adapter, and power adapter, it would increase their progression in their playing or music in general.
