Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic third grade learners. Most are 8 or 9 years old. They want to learn as much as possible and soak up every opportunity to do so. My students are kind and respectful kids. They are a diverse group with varying strengths and needs. Many do not have appropriate leveled reading materials at home. Most of my students are nearing grade level expectations or at grade level. It is important to keep them engaged and progressing forward!
My Project
The math and reading games will make a difference in my students' learning because they will be able to have fun while learning the necessary math and reading skills for third grade. The students will be practicing their skills without even realizing they are learning while they are playing.
Students will learn how to play with each other while learning valuable social skills.
Children needs these skills more and more. Cooperation, critical thinking skills and social skills are becoming increasingly challenging to teach. These games will help support building such skills.
The outdoor balls will give the students opportunities to interact and play with each other at recess in a healthy manner. The snacks will help my students who don't have snacks.
