I am blessed to teach a full day developmental kindergarten class with 20 students.
Our developmental kindergarten program provides high quality, developmental, education to families of young learners.
This program encompasses social-emotional skills, fine and gross motor skills as well as literacy and mathematical skills. Our goal by the end of the year is to have every student fully prepared to be successful in kindergarten and beyond.
If you walk into my classroom, you'll find a room of four and five-year-olds having fun while learning. You'll see them using open-ended materials to explore, as well as forming relationships and problem solving. Lastly, you will see them learning and developing the skills they need to succeed in life.
My Project
"Play is the highest form of research" is a famous quote from Albert Einstein. This quote comes to life in my DK classroom. I have my classroom split up into many different interest areas with materials that provide my students plenty of opportunities to learn and play. Unfortunately, our dramatic play area is lacking the materials needed to hold their interest and allow their imaginations to run wild.

These items will support and encourage social interactions, teamwork, and problem solving. They also provide an opportunity for young learners to explore, create, laugh, learn and grow.
