Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students have struggles to overcome before they even get to school in the morning. We work hard and play hard and are truly a school family!

My students are eager to learn, active and enthusiastic.

Our classroom is busy and buzzing with hands-on learning experiences. We love to learn and grow together. My hope for all of my students is that they develop a love of learning that will go on with them throughout their life.

My Project

Having a well-stocked listening center will allow my students to choose a book to listen to, so they can read about something they want to read. When we can develop a love of reading into our students we create life long learners. Kindergarteners love books and reading and this is one more way to add an exciting reading experience for my students.

This amazing listening center and book collection will help students have a choice in what they read, as well as help in developing great reading fundamentals and building comprehension skills.

This is a way to teach the joy of learning and reading for a lot for many years to come!
