A typical day in my classroom is loaded with high school boys and girls interacting with Technology. My students are learning Web design with HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Programming with Python/Java/Visual Basic/C#, and designing mobile applications with Android App Inventor/JavaScript.
My students range from ages 14-18.
Each class has a diverse group of boys and girls with Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors all learning together. My students are in my class because they are interested in learning to be creators of technology, not just users.
My Project
My students love to use technology. It's time to teach them how to be creators! This project will allow my students to expand their love of technology and electronics. With the requested materials I will be able to provide my students with an opportunity to not only learn to code, but to actually build gadgets and watch their code in action.
I can not wait to watch my students fall in love with creating and coding!
This project will give my students a Raspberry Pi (credit card sized micro computer) that thy can learn to program with using Python and the C programming languages. Not only will my students have access to the Raspberry Pi, but also 37 sensors that they can create, code, and interact with. Just a few of the many sensors included in this kit are: rain sensors, temperature sensors, gas sensors, sound sensors, and so much more. I can not wait to see what my students will create!
