My students need 39 drawing books for the library.

I am the librarian of an urban middle school. Our library serves a diverse population of students--48% of our students are minorities, and 45% are low income.

Our library currently has very few drawing books. All of the drawing books we do have are in disrepair because they are constantly checked out. I am confident that expanding this section will be met with student enthusiasm.

The library needs a variety of drawing books on a range of topics such as: animals, manga, superheroes, and people. The library also needs books that are on more specific drawing skills, like shading and perspective. There is a school art club that has started this year and students will benefit from a new drawing collection to use during their meetings as well.

Your generosity will ensure our students have access to resources designed to develop skills in art. Art is an ideal avenue for self-expression which is important for all young people, but especially for middle school students who are struggling to discover who they will become.
