Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school saying is, "Better today than yesterday! Better tomorrow than today!" I want to make their tomorrow better!
My class consists of a diverse group of learners.
My class has 26 second grade students of varying abilities. The socioeconomic background of our students is reflected by our 97% free or reduced-price lunch rate.
I teach in an urban inner city school rich with diversity. Most of my students need additional learning materials to meet grade level expectations. Please help me to make tomorrow better for them!
My Project
My students are energetic learners! They come to school daily to learn and meet grade level standards.
Having wipe off sleeves and wipe off circles would allow them to learn at centers and write and wipe off their work when they're done!
Students can work on center work on a wipe off sleeve by inserting the worksheet and writing with a wipe off marker to mark up their answers. Students can take a photo of their work on our classroom iPad and send it to me, so I can view their progress. By doing this type of learning activity we are cutting down on using paper in the classroom. I can set up an album for each student and have their work kept in a digital portfolio for showcasing their learning throughout the year.
Our class needs mini notebooks for note-taking in the classroom. My students enjoy having a small notebook to record important concepts in Math and Reading Strategies. Students record one strategy on each page and then have the information to refer back to as they learn.
Our class is in need of new hall passes! Students need a hall pass to go to different places within the building. Having this set will allow 6 choices for students to use when they leave the classroom.
Our class also needs a Schedule Pocket Chart for our white board area. Students need to know where they need to go for learning times. Students also need to be able to follow their schedule for the day. Knowing your schedule for the day cuts down on anxiety and helps with time management for students.
These are all items that we need in our classroom to help it run smoothly. Thank you for helping us to continue our learning and growing!
