Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kiddos are imaginative, problem-solving students that never quit. This year's group has been amazing and have inspired me to do more! They have never been exposed to this type of technology for a specific reason.
I teach in a county that is know for having a high level of unemployment and I don't want my students to believe they will get stuck here.
I want to do this by introducing them to next level technology and inspire them to become makers. I believe they should want more than what is expected from living in this area.
My Project
My students are already makers, tinkerers and explorers. They have a curiosity that has been nurtured since the beginning of the year. They started with a cardboard arcade project, then made their own video games using the Bloxels app and then created board games that were accented by using 3D printed parts! They have learned how to program, code and so much more, but now I want to take this to the next level of exploration!
My students deserve to experience the next level of virtual reality so that they can learn more and go further in by seeing more than they could have ever dreamed of!
This can be accomplished by allowing them access to an HTC Vive and the many learning applications that come with it. In order to do so, they will need the gear plus a strong enough computer to run it.
