My students need various types of comfy seating that will allow for strengthened learning and building blocks to encourage their spatial learning and creativity.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are smart and very curious. My students love to learn and play each and every school day. Whether they are sounding out simple words, or learning their numbers, they are actively engaged in learning. Their learning continues throughout the day, even as they play. During play, I love watching my students build with Legos, showing their creativity with the structures they build. When I asked one of my students what he was building he said, "Ms. D, I am building a city.” This city had structures with windows and doors, there were even trees and fences. Not only do they show their creativity with blocks, but also at times when they use our classroom tablets, books and other classroom materials.
Children learn as they play.
Exposure to various materials enhance the quality of the learning experiences students are exposed to. My goal is to provide my students with the resources necessary to learn and be successful.
My students need comfortable seating to be able to learn and play in their own special way and building blocks to encourage their individual creativity. Having large pillows will allow my students the flexibility to move around the room with their comfy seating and choose where they would like to “comfortably” use classroom materials. They will be able to sit on the floor and build with blocks “comfortably” by using the soft seats. The giant beanbag chair will allow them to be able to read “comfortably” anywhere in the classroom. My students will be able to sit and play with manipulatives anywhere in the classroom, not just at the table. Being comfortable will allow my students optimal learning experiences and environments. My students need train blocks to make their building of a city come to life. These blocks will allow them to build a train that would travel through their city, accompanied by moving vehicles to enhance their play. My students love to read, learn and play. The comfortable seating and building blocks will allow them the ability to explore their learning and play in a “comfy” way.
The materials for this project will provide my students with a variety of materials that can be used to enhance their learning experiences, while meeting their individual needs.
