Our classroom is a positive learning environment where 23 kindergarten students learn, play and grow every day. These students come to school every day eager to learn. From the very first day, I emphasize the importance of hard work and practice.

The students in my classroom have a variety of strengths and needs. I strive to create a learning environment where each child can grow and succeed. Each day, they get the opportunity to practice important skills that help them learn and progress. We work together in a variety of ways including small groups, one-on-one and whole group.
My Project
In kindergarten, I provide my students with lots of hands on, interactive learning opportunities that allow them to learn and grow. Kindergarten is an important time for students to build foundational skills that will help them find success in school for many more years to come. Some of these skills include learning their names, letters, sight words and numbers.
To learn, students need to do something.
It's not enough to just show students a letter or word, they must have the opportunity to work with it and practice it on their own. The dry erase pouches and laminating sheets allow me to create practice sheets for our class that they can use again and again. The sheets in the pouches can be changed easily so they can be used for a variety of concepts. The laminating sheets allow me to target specific skills for specific students.
The students love being able to have this opportunity to revisit a skill such as writing teen numbers because it gives them a chance to learn and improve. They get so excited when they finally can write a number that they have been working on for so long! The dry erase pouches and laminating sheets erase easily compared to using a dry erase board. The make up erasers become erasers and the students can each have one near by for learning.
