I am blessed to get to teach 25 of the most amazing third graders. Our classroom community is unique and special because this is our second year together. Looping with the same class for a second year has solidified the personal connections we have made with one another even further, creating a learning environment where growth mindset is fully embraced and the sky is the limit.
As a KIDS at HOPE school, I truly believe that each and every one of my students are capable of success, NO EXCEPTIONS!
I want to provide my students with opportunities to be their true, creative selves while exploring learning through hands-on approaches. Every child has something special to offer, and it is my passion to help them see their gifts and set goals to reach their full potential, both personally and academically.
My Project
I am hoping to give my students the opportunity to learn, discover and code with a Sphero Mini. We have already purchased 5 and need 2 more so that each of the 6 table groups in my classroom can work with one while the teacher also has one for demonstration. We also need a charging hub so that all can be charged at once. Sphero Mini packs tons of fun into a tiny, robotic ball in which students learn to code, drive, play educational games and more. Through the Sphero Edu app, students can explore integrated STEAM principles and practice creative coding.
Collaborative discourse, teamwork, and critical thinking skills are at the forefront of these highly engaging and brain-stimulating robotic balls!
