My students need Light Up Math Activity Centers, Count and Compare Numbers Sets, Addition Fluency Puzzles, Comparing Numbers Magnetic Boards, Lakeshore Number Rockets, Comparing Numbers Flip and Solve Boards, Counting Money Puzzles, and other math centers.
I have incredibly curious and kind students. For most, this is their first year in school so they are excited and a little nervous. They are learning to be leaders in our classroom, school, and community. They want to do their best academically and socially. This year, I hope for them to learn how to be independent, responsible, encouraging, empathetic, and motivated. They deserve the best first school year experience where they have the opportunity to grow emotionally, academically, and socially.
My Project
These materials will be used as math stations during our math workshop hour. These stations will allow students to practice a variety of skills and strategies learned in previous mini lessons. Students will learn and practice these skills by having fun playing these games with their peers.
They won't even know they're working, because they'll be having too much fun!
They will practice addition and subtraction problems, compare numbers, learn a variety of ways to combine coins to make different amounts, measure objects, sort shapes, count, create number bonds, and they will learn how to solve part-whole addition and subtraction problems.
