I teach at a Title one Pre-K- 5 public elementary school. It is a diverse school with many English language learners as well as low income students. My wonderful Pre-K students are creative, curious, and very busy. Many of them have a developmental delay and have communication, sensory, motor, and social issues. My students have many different learning styles and learn best through play and hands on activities. They learn through whole group activities and small group, center based learning. I hope to provide my students with opportunities that will fit their needs in order for them to be able to learn and grow.
My Project
The materials that will be purchased with your generosity will help to supplement our learning centers. This is my first year teaching this age group and I do not have enough hands-on manipulatives. I want to add a variety of materials like Magna Tiles, letter sets, puzzles, counters, building sets, and other items that will help preschoolers with fine motor skills, academic skills, and language opportunities.
My students need lots of opportunities to engage in social interactions to get them talking and learning!
These materials will help them learn at their own pace so that they can all be successful and have fun learning.
