My Students

We live in a small, rural community. The students are from mostly low-income families. A majority of these students receive free breakfast and lunches I can only imagine the things they have on their minds when they come to school. I cannot manage their home lives but I can ensure that students come to a safe, clean and positive learning environment. Students come to our classroom with smiles and ready to go every day. Our classroom is a warm, safe and loving place where everyone feels loved and wanted.

My Project

Some of our students have never had access to tablets or phones. These tablets would be a way to incorporate learning into playing in small groups with teacher guidance. I want to invest in our future by giving technology to our students.

I have found fantastic apps for building our handwriting, reading and math foundations that will be used to help us become strong readers, mathematicians and great problem solvers!

I would also like for students to be able to take photos of their creations and adventures in our classroom. We can work on sequencing and numerous other skills through photography!

I am anxious to incorporate more technology into our classroom and curriculum. I am excited to use the Kindle Fires with our students who struggle and with our students who soar!
