My second graders are very active, love learning and exploring. They are always active when it comes to new things or new learning. They are very excited to participate in learning especially if it is new to them and as long as they were able to move their body.
What I notice about my students is that they love to read and listen to new stories.
They also love math as long as they have the chance to explore new things.
My Project
The main purpose of my project is to give me assistance in teaching new and difficult concepts for my kids. I am planning to have rotations in both literacy and math. Rotations or centers will be a big help for my kids, especially that I need to work on what they need for each level. The materials that I chose, like the Writing Activity Stations, will help in teaching the skills to kids and it will help them master the skills of writing. Not only writing but also reading in which I need more resources so I can provide more of what my kids need in their level. Each kid has a different level so I have to make sure I can provide each one of them.
In Math, teaching new concepts through visual and manipulative will create a long-lasting impression on them.
I do math rotation in my classroom so they will have a variety of activities to learn with one topic. In my centers, I need materials so I can show it to them what is our lesson all about. I also need the materials so they were able to work on it after I'm done with my instruction. In that way, they could work on their own through what they have learned from me. Just like the Solve It! Addition and Subtraction Magnetic Board and Hands-On Subtraction and Addition Kit, because our lesson focuses more on those two major topics. The best way for them to master the skills is for them to see it, try it and work on it.
