My students need 3 LeapFrog Leapster Explorer Learning Game Systems and 6 Leapster books.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Independent work time...in KINDERGARTEN? No really, it can be done with the right materials. During centers, kids are to be working independently in small groups while I work on reading skills (Guided Reading) at their levels. The trick is to keep them engaged for the whole 15 minutes.
I have a class of 13 Kindergrtners and 10 first graders.
They are a great group of active students! They love to read books, especially silly ones! They enjoy working on math concepts, singing silly songs and learning new things about the world around them. They are truly a wonderful group of students, coming from a variety of backgrounds.
Our class uses computers almost daily in class, but we only have 3 computers, so they have to share. I'm looking to find more technology so that our 4 groups of 6 can be split up: 3 on computer, 3 on Leapsters one day, then switch places the next day. The three Leapsters I am requesting would really make a difference in my class.
Children these days are very attracted to computers/technology.
They are engaged for longer periods of time and retain more of what they learn/accomplish. I'm hoping to put more technologies directly in their hands!
