Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Reading can take children to places they may only dream of going. I am a third grade teacher in a low income area. I would like to instill a love of reading into my students. Many of them struggle with reading. Because of their struggle, they tend to not like reading. As a teacher I am trying to encourage them to get through their difficulties with reading by reading books that interest them or bridging technology with reading. I believe I can give them the gift of enjoying reading with your help.

There were many budget cuts in our school district. Our school budget was reduced by more than 50%. I was told that the school could not even afford to pay for the basic school supplies such as pencils, crayons, glue etc. Many of the supplies I have purchased on my own. How can our students get a quality education without the basic necessities for them to learn? They truly deserve better!!

My students need more opportunities for them to read in a fun, exciting and engaging setting. The LeapPad Learning Systems will motivate students to read. The students will enjoy using them because it is engaging and they will increase their reading skills while having fun.

You can make the difference for my students. They are our future and they need a chance to a great and successful future. Be the difference in their lives!
