Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects. They come to school each day ready to learn new things!
Each child in my classroom loves to learn, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
Our school is located on the west side of Indianapolis, Indiana. Many of the students in our school are Hispanic and African American and come from low-income households.
My Project
My students thrive on being able to use hands-on learning in the classroom. Hands-on learning builds fine motor skills, engages different areas of the brain, and allows students to grasp concepts much quicker.
Being able to recognize letters and their sounds are key foundational skills needed for learning to read.
The Alphabet Bowling game will allow my students to practice letter recognition and get their wiggles out at the same time. The Alphabet Rockets will allow students to practice letter recognition and letter sounds. The letter recognition learning center will allow students to match letters. The linking alphabet monkeys will allow students to arrange letters in order.
