Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My school is a K-6 school with 65% English Language Learners, and 75% of our students receive free lunch. I currently teach Kindergarten and more than half of my students are English Language learners. Several of the other students did not attend pre-school. I would like to purchase Leap Pads and a Phonemic Awareness program for my 20 Kindergartners to use. The Leap Pads would help them learn their alphabet and letter sounds, which is the major component in learning to read. In addition, the Leap Pads would enrich the program of students who are beginning to read. I would like two Leap Pad Kindergarten Kits that include Leap Pads and three books each. The Phonemic Awareness Kit contains six practice books and a teacher's resource guide. Students will take turns using the Leap Pads at reading time everyday. Leap Pad has proven itself as a leader in teaching children basic skills and students love using it. I know this experience will be so beneficial for all of my students.
