This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students love listening to stories. It is very rewarding to see them trying to read some of the stories that they have heard a few times.
My students need a place to listen to stories.
I am very passionate about creating a listening area, but the layout of my classroom makes it difficult to fit a traditional listening center in the room. Having LeapFrog Tag Readers would be the perfect solution.
My Project
Research has shown that children process information better when multiple senses are involved. LeapFrog Tag Readers will give my students the opportunity to both see and hear the words from the story as they read along.
I strongly believe in providing activities that target multiple senses. Utilizing multiple modalities in the teaching-learning process will be more rewarding for both students and teachers. The Tag Reading System and books will help my students become confident and stronger readers. Hopefully, they will start recognizing words that show up quite often and start remembering them so that they are truly reading on their own by the end of the school year.
Tag Readers will target and enhance multiple modalities in my Pre-K students.
They will help the students build their sight word vocabulary and learn to read with expression. Tag Readers are instrumental in building early literacy skills, and will give the students confidence that they, too, can become great readers. My students need LeapFrog Tag Readers and books for a non-traditional listening center in their Pre-K classroom.
