State exams are around the corner! All year we have been preparing to master our state exams (LEAP). Although we feel confident about our progress thus far, these resources will further enhance our ELA skills and give us the last push we need to obtain Mastery!
My students are predominately African-American.
Most of my students also depend on free or reduced-priced lunch at school. Additionally, due to socioeconomic disadvantages, most of my students are, on average, two grade levels behind their more affluent peers. Nonetheless, my fourth graders thirst for knowledge and work hard to be the best!
I am so excited about the resources I'm requesting for our classroom! 1.Grammar Literature: Our classroom library is our most valued classroom asset. Every morning, we dedicate half an hour to independent and whole-class readings. These books will go in our classroom library. They will make learning about grammar (and remembering tough grammar rules) a fun process! Undoubtedly, my students will gain invaluable grammar skills from these books. This is especially important because our state exams are quickly approaching. 2. ELA Journals: These journals will challenge my students to improve their reading comprehension, writing, grammar, spelling and research skills on a daily basis. Each journal is packed with various activities that entice students to further their learning. I plan on using these journals at least twice a day to refresh and refine our ELA skills. 3.Teacher Tote: This bag will allow me to travel between both of my fourth grade classes with our test-prep files in tow.
Sixty students will be directly impacted by this project!
My fourth graders have worked incredibly hard this year to prepare for their state exams -- this project is the cherry on top! I am confident these resources will reinvigorate them right before they take their state exams this spring. I know they will feel more empowered and prepared with these resources on hand. My students deserve a world-class education! Please help us reach our learning goals and Master the LEAP!
