My Students

"He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed." Albert Einstein Each year when my students dissect frogs, they are in awe of all the internal structures and how they work together to perform necessary functions.

Our student body is very diverse.

We have students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Seventy-two percent of our students come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and receive free or reduced lunch. Most of my students love working together on projects, and learn best when they have the opportunity to be hands-on with the materials.

My Project

We spend a large amount of time studying the human body systems, and learning about the functions of each organ and how they work together to perform larger functions. Dissecting a frog is an awesome way for students to be able to see how the organ systems are interconnected. Students will be able to compare and contrast between the human and frog internal anatomy.

This project will improve my class by allowing students to have a hands-on experience with the organ systems that we have discussed in class.

This project has the ability to inspire my students to pursue careers in the medical field or in the field of biology.
