My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with more opportunities to be exposed to early literacy. At the preschool level we don't always think to expose our children to learn how to read, but the earlier the better. That's why I want to give my students that chance to be exposed to early reading opportunities.

My Project

The Leap pens will help the children the world of reading. It will allow them to listen and hear the words being put into a story. They will use these materials to explore the world of reading. When a child is first starting to learn they are listening to the words and how they are pronounced. The children will be able to use the leap pens to listen to the words being said that they are pointing to in the books. This will hopefully have a great effect on them when they are beginning to read and begin the curiosity to want to read more.
