Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year will be the sixth year for my school to be opened. Each year, we have been faced with changes to the school due to overcrowding. Even with all the changes, my district has made to help with our school being overcrowded; I currently have 19 Kindergarten students. One thing that has not changed is my goals for my students. I want to meet the needs of all my students academically and socially.
I want to provide opportunities for my students to develop the skills needed to be successful in the classroom.
Kindergarten should be every child's favorite year and I want them to be excited about school. I look forward to a new school year and a new group of energetic and enthusiastic students.
My Project
These hands-on literacy flip books will be used during my guided reading groups to help strengthen their reading skills. Rhyming is a crucial skill for learning to read. The rhyming train and rhyming flip book will be perfect to practice these skills. The vowels and diagram flip books will be used during guided reading as well. Mastering these skills will guarantee the children to be reading on or above grade level by the end of the year. The crayons will be used to enhance fine motor skills. As the year goes on the children will need more crayons.
