My students need a Leap TV Educational Gaming System, a Leap TV transforming controller , and various games to meet their math and reading educational needs.
I work in a Title 1 school with a large population of students that struggle with poverty. My students range from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. In the community I work in there is a large population of Native American students. I thoroughly enjoy the mix of cultures and strive to promote cultural diversity in my classroom.
Besides coming from a wide variety of backgrounds my student all differ in their academic abilities.
I try to make that my teaching style meets all of their needs, but finding resources to meet all their needs can be difficult.
My Project
This project would establish an interactive technology center in my classroom. The Leap TV Gaming System will provide my students with a fun and engaging way to learn and practice reading, math, and science skills. The Leap TV will enable my students to use their body as a controller as they explore topics such as parts of speech, addition and subtraction fluency, and many phonics skills.
This project will give all of my kinesthetic learners an opportunity to learn through movement and engage all of my active learners.
This project will help my students that struggle with hyperactivity by giving them an outlet to use their energy to learn.
