My students need Leap TV game cartridges and gift cards to download games that are only available online to help promote active learning and exercising during indoor recess!
My students are special needs students who have multiple disabilities. They walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. They are a group of children who work hard at being an inspiration to themselves and to others.
They enjoy incorporating what they have learned from real life experiences and they are very enthusiastic about learning!
There are many outside factors that they cannot control that can affect their day. They each have their own learning needs which makes it very important for me to provide my students with differentiated instruction, a safe environment as well as an education that is based around whole brain learning.
We are a part of an elementary school in Columbus, Ohio which is highest poverty. Our students do not have the resources at home to succeed in this world, so it is my job to help them learn these skills at school!
My Project
My students have asked for LeapTv games to play on these cold winter days when we stay in for recess. The Leapfrog Active TV gaming system and Leapfrog active video games are kid-friendly and designed to get kids up and moving. My students love to dance and this system gives them a fun way to do that inspiring them with all the popular children's tv characters. Lastly, we would also like a Leapfrog download gift card so we can download active learning games that are only available online.
These materials will help my students use self-monitoring skills to track their fitness and healthy choices in a fun, educational way.
They will be able to compare their results with their peers as well as help each other reach their goals by playing active games. All of the materials are designed to inspire kids to stay active and healthy by using children's favorite tv characters and fun educational games. My students will be very excited to get moving and release some energy during indoor recess.
