My Students

I have an exciting group of 21 second graders this year! They are full of energy and a fun group of kids. My students have a diverse mix of interests and abilities. They enjoy reading, games, and engaging in conversation!

My students also come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds and face many challenges in and out of the classroom.

Despite this, they are hardworking and creative. I want to create an environment that makes them feel comfortable and excited to come to school all while keeping up with our new district guidelines.

My Project

Using flexible seating does so many things for my classroom! My students spend most of their day in just our wonderful four walls! Using flexible seating is one way that I use to keep students engaged while allowing them to move! Using this type of seating also allows for easy and effective cleaning. It is of great importance this year to maintain a classroom using safe and effective cleaning products, as well as easy to clean items. I also want my student to feel comfortable with asking for the things they need throughout the day from movement all the way to a snack that they may not have access to at home!
