Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember trying to do something that seemed really hard? It may have even felt impossible. As a Reading Specialist, in a Title One district, on the border of Detroit, I provide support to kids who are currently at the bottom 20% in reading. I love helping my students develop the skills they need to succeed in school.
My students are amazing kids that struggle with learning to read, and so many really want to be fantastic readers and writers.
These kids need your help! With your support, we will be able to have those extra resources that can help all kids learn to love reading and writing. We would love to have you as part of our Literacy Team!
My Project
These books and materials will demonstrate to the leaders in my class, that requested these books, that I listen to them and will work to get them the books they request.
Please help me honor their requests for the Amulet series.
Several students are begging for this series, and I know that seeing them read will have a profound impact on their classmates who look up to them.
I have been having such great success with fostering the expectation that we are a community of readers, I definitely want to keep the momentum going. Your help will ensure more books are given the "blessing" as cool books to read.
