My students need classroom materials in order to be successful! These supplies include pencils, notebook paper, highlighters, and marker-board materials. Often, students come to class without the essential tools they need to succeed! Providing these items allows for their best chance of success!
My students are very energetic and creative!
They aren’t just your average middle school students; they are so much more! They are leaders! Besides math, my students are learning the “7 Habits of Success” through a new program targeted at schools with diverse populations, entitled The Leader in Me. Seeing their growth each day is truly inspiring. I stay proactive with my instruction and try to inspire student involvement. I reached out to our Family Resource Center for help. However, due to the large number of students not equipped with supplies, it’s difficult for my students to be successful!
My Project
These basic resources in my classroom will be used to ensure the success of all students in my class. The paper (copy paper, notebook paper) will be used for numerous copies and note-taking for class. The double- sided, dry-erase boards will be used for board races. What are board races? Board races are a form of drill and practice. I’ve found this to be a very useful technique that engages the whole classroom in discussion. The backside of the board has an x and y axis. I love using marker-boards when I’m teaching graphing because it’s a great way to quickly formatively assess students. Highlighters are useful when students are learning a new concept. Unfortunately, most of my supply has dried out and they need to be replaced. Giving students these essential tools to succeed makes all the difference in the classroom.
By having these donations, my students will no longer have to worry about not doing well, simply because they do not have the tools to succeed.
