My students need books to help them diversify their interest in reading! We've voted on a variety of fiction and nonfiction books that will benefit us as well as large scissors to help with our projects.
My students have a zest for learning and LOVE to discover new things! One goal we have set this year is to help them be more hands on and discover new books and genres in reading. We also have a goal to help them apply their gained knowledge and share it with those outside of our classroom! Including parents, school peers, and reaching beyond our local town through our class website.
As they learn and discover through books and literature, their zest for learning increases exponentially!
Having these literature materials in our classroom will give them the tools to keep that fire burning, especially as we discover and continue to develop our love for reading in the 5th grade.
My Project
This collection of books (Peter and the Starcatchers, The I Survived Series, Worst Friends, etc) will help my students increase the value of reading and literature in their lives.
We have gotten in the habit of re-reading the same books over and over again-and we need to diversify our interests to keep our love of reading alive!
We have voted on a variety of books that include both fiction and nonfiction that have to do with our 5th grade core. This will help my students foster their interest in reading and keep their love of literature alive!
We will use these books during our free read times and our Guided Reading Hour. Some of these also become our Read-Aloud books to capture and intrigue interest in some specific genres.
