I am a fourth grade teacher in a Title 1 school here in Mesa, Arizona, where 86% of our students are eligible for free and reduced price lunches.
My students are very energetic fourth graders who love to learn!
Despite the challenges that many of my students face, they are very hardworking and have a bright future ahead of them. It is a very diverse community on campus, and one in which many of our students are second language learners.
My Project
"The art of teaching is the art of assisting in discovery."- Mark Van Doren
My students LOVE anything STEM related.
When science is approaching, or even when we go to work on our long division- you can feel the excitement in my classroom. They get excited about learning! That is why I am asking for these STEM related books and activities. I would like to keep the momentum going in my classroom and enrich my students' lives with subjects they are interested in and have fun with!
With these activities I will be able to start a STEM club for my fourth graders, as well as enrich the topics that we already learn about with hands-on, meaningful activities.
