Leaders at Work

Help me give my students opportunities to build leadership skills, language and collaborative learning skills through setting up leadership notebooks. These notebooks will be used for creating personal and academic goals and tracking/monitoring progress toward goals.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We work to develop leadership skills with all of our students and provide opportunities for leadership roles, teach goal setting and celebrate success together. Coronavirus has impacted student learning and socialization and we will use these to tailor learning and leadership experiences to engage students in their development in meeting these needs.

These notebooks will be used to teach leadership development through goal planning, setting, tracking and monitoring progress together.

Once personal and academic goals are met, we will celebrate success and support our young leaders in setting new goals. Students will also apply for school leadership roles and use the binders to create portfolios reflecting their success and growth throughout the school year.

Classroom headphones will support leadership development as our young leaders work on building language skills and conversing with others as multi-language learners.

As we also work on collaboration and interpersonal skills, we will use the games to teach turn-taking, how to cheer others on, and how to handle disappointment graciously.
