Currently, I teach Geometry at a high school. Learning needs to be enhanced through the use of technology. As for last year, only 36% of the students enrolled in Geometry classes passed the state standardized tests.
The population of my school includes many low income students needing additional resources to learn math.
As for last year, only 36% of the students enrolled in Geometry classes passed the state standardized tests. Geometry scores for the past several years have been low, in order to assist with bringing instruction to higher levels, technology will need to incorporated into the lessons. In the school 66% of the students are on free or reduced lunch.
Technology will be used to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students. In addition, students can use technology to learn math through some computer programs. Teacher will be able to incorporate software programs into the classroom rather than booking a computer lab. With the multiple resources for a particular class, 5 projectors, the teacher will be able to use the technology to differentiate the instruction to allow for four different activities.
Our school needs help improving math scores.
With the technology, lessons can be used to ensure math instruction is meeting the needs of all students. With the small number of computer labs, it is hard to have students exposed to great technology resources. With the multiple resources for a particular class, 4 projectors, the teacher will be able to use the technology to differentiate the instruction to allow for four different activities.
