This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a small, sleepy little agriculture based town and this projector could be the means to opening my students up to what is going on in the world of science.

I currently work at a very small high school.

I have many students who are struggling to learn content due to their limited access to technology. The town they live in is a sleepy, agriculture based community that generally provides work in the form of hard labor working in the almond and walnut orchards up and down the valley.

My Project

With a LCD projector I can access science based films and documentaries like "Planet Earth"; "NATURE"; "How the Earth was Made" and "THE UNIVERSE", as well as do PowerPoint presentations filled with vocabulary and concept elaborations along with diagrams and pictures. Students will be able to view online science tutorials as well.

This type of activity could be the difference for my students, having a window into the world of science might be the catalyst for inspiring students to go onto the next level.

Being able to view video, ppt and access the web as a group will be a new experience for my students.
