My students need an LCD projector to display, discuss, and critique images of historic art and of their original artwork.
This project expired on March 3, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Students are amazed when they see huge images of works of art projected on the screen. When it's their own work they see, they are totally enthralled and cannot stop themselves from totally immersing themselves in the artistic process.
My students are 4th - 8th graders.
We get by on a tiny budget and their work is amazing. Many of them are already better artists than me. Their involvement in class and pride within themselves is increased when they can view, discuss, and critique works of art - especially their own.
Students grow by learning the language of self-expression. This is done through making art and talking about art. Visual literacy is a valuable component of a full literacy program. In a visual art program, a projector is essential for showing art, talking about art, and learning self-expression though the evaluation of art.
We open exciting new worlds to students by showing them works of art made through the centuries and throughout the world.
This one tool will unlock these worlds. Teaching through images is a method that the students and I will use every day.
