Ms. Rockwell from Chicago IL is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need an LCD projector to be able to see the day's lesson from anywhere in the room.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Have you ever overcome enormous challenges only to run into the smallest issue when you are so close to achieving your goal? Many of my students show up to school and are eager to learn everyday, only to be blocked from the process by not being able to see the blackboard.
My students are bright, eager kids, who are living in a neighborhood which a lot of the larger city has given up on.
Due to our school's lack of funds, we are unable to provide many students with the resources that other schools regard as essential (an updated book for every student, document cameras, LCD projectors, etc). Also, this year is particularly important for my students as this is when they will be taking the ACT test. This test (unfortunately, yet realistically speaking) can both open and partially close doors for my students. Thus, my students need as much learning time in our math class this year as possible.
While I am unable to provide my students with every technological resource and book that they deserve, having an LCD projector would help make it so that every student can at least see what is going on in the classroom. Having an LCD projector would also provide an additional opportunity to create really engaging and efficient lessons to help maximize their learning in the limited time that I have with them.
Advanced Algebra/Trigonometry is difficult.
The ACT is difficult. Many of my students face enormous challenges outside of the classroom that are extremely difficult. Please help create one less difficulty in their lives by helping provide them with a board that they will ALL be able to see.
