Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My choir kids are some of the hardest working students in our school. They rehearse only an hour a week as a group, but put in so much more time practicing on their own to make a heartfelt performance.
Besides their love of music, the Honors Choir kids are truly devoted to improving the school and their community.
Already this year, they have performed for events honoring 9/11, Black History Month and more sometimes with only a day's notice. They learn new music with just a few day's notice and never complain and are truly exceptional kids.
My Project
My students represent the best that Long Branch Public Schools have to offer, and these uniforms would help them feel like the strong women they are both on stage anf off.
LBMS students come from varied international backgrounds and low-income families, so I want my choir kids to know that they can be powerful examples for the rest of their school and community.
They will use them in every performance throughout the year, and I feel like the confidence they will inspire in those students can extend to the rest of their lives. When you look good, you feel good and when you feel good, you can do GREAT things!
