Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is committed to creating globally aware students through providing a cognitively demanding curriculum, high quality instruction, and a sense of civic and ethical responsibility in all students. Both the staff and students are highly dedicated and our learning is centered around this goal.
In our classroom we work to build a sense of community and spread kindness each and every day.
Students bring with them a variety of experiences, languages, and knowledge which makes our classroom a wonderfully diverse and exciting place or all.
My Project
First grade is an essential time for students to learn good social and personal habits. These items will enable me to model - and students to practice - good organization habits. Student desks are too small to fit standard size folders, books, and notebooks. The seat covers would give students space to store all of their own materials and take responsibility for their care. The caddies will give them space to keep and maintain art supplies that are shared with their table mates.
Not only will they learn to take good care of their own belongings, but they will need to work together to take care of shared materials as well.
My students will need skills like organization and cooperation throughout their lives and these materials will help lay the groundwork for years to come. Please help us brighten up our space and give students a classroom they can feel proud of!
