Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Sending students who can read up to first grade is my highest priority. My students are anxious and eager to read and have the motivation they need, now they just need the right materials to help them on their way.
I have a classroom full of bright, energetic, and motivated kindergarten students who love to learn and achieve each and every single day.
Our school is located in a high-poverty area. 100% of our students receive free and reduced price lunch. My students certainly want to learn and achieve all that they can, however we need your help!
My Project
The materials I am requesting are all activities that can be used as centers to reinforce the skills we are learning in reading to help lay the foundation for my aspiring readers. They are all hands on and are academically challenging, yet fun. These materials will be used on a daily basis to provide my students with the rich practice they need to master the basic reading skills to have them on their way toward becoming proficient readers by the end of kindergarten.
The materials provided by this project will help to engage students in reading foundational skills.
In using these materials, students will gain practice in the skills they need to become fantastic readers. They will also gain confidence in their abilities and will leave kindergarten as readers!
