My school is home to a very diverse group of student in fact, it is the most diverse elementary school in my district. We are also a Title One school. This means the majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Since the population of students in poverty is so large at my school, my students may not have the experiences other children may have. I want my students to have the same opportunities and resources that any other student would have.
My Project
My students will use these items during reading centers/stations. They will rotate daily through 5 different reading and writing centers. One pocket chart will be used to display my students center rotations, one pocket chart will be used to display high frequency words that will be used during word work, and the other pocket chart will be used for my students to store their work for the week. I am also asking for a word building game, word chunk game, and stamp pads. These will also be used during center time. My students will benefit from using these items daily.
