My Students

This first grade class is part of an amazing school located in a small "community-centered" town just outside Los Angeles.

Our class is comprised of 25 high energy, super excited students that can't wait to learn something new every day!

It is a joy to be around these 6-8 year old boys and girls every day and see the light bulbs go off, hear their fabulous thoughts, and experience their tremendous growth. They are rock stars and I am honored to be their teacher.

My Project

My first graders are voracious readers! They love books and would read all day if they could. I would, too! I attended the Scholastic Reading Summit this summer and Mr. Schu, the Ambassador of School Libraries for Scholastic Book Fairs "book talked" some amazing new books that are sure to inspire, engage, and empower readers.

To extend my students' love of books and fully meet their needs and interests as readers, I would love to purchase these "latest and greatest" literary works of art.

These books would be used as both mentor texts when teaching reading skills, but they would also live in the hands, hearts, and minds of my students as they participate in Reading Workshop this year.
