Laser Cutting Project for Future Sustainability and Career Exploration.

Help me give my students a laser cutter to learn drafting. The cutter will help student fund their own projects as they contract jobs for other individuals and groups.

My Students

My students are actively involved in STEAM activities and fervently pursuing STEAM related careers. They are comprised of student in my robotics classroom as well as students that are involved in the after school robotics program. The students are often part of the STEAM Engineering academy.

My students will use the laser cutter for First Robotics competitions and to learn skills that they can apply in their future career pathways.

Their experience will be invaluable in regards to their marketability.

My Project

Students will learn real world skills as they design and create parts for their robots. They will also utilize the laser cutter for fundraising as they bid and create contracted projects for businesses and individuals.

The initial project will be a bid to design and create the door placards for Kankakee High School.

Students will attempt to win the bid over other other bidding organizations. The students will also actively pursue other contracts with local businesses. They will also attempt to design and sell products to the community for fundraising for their teams and materials. Senior graduation signs are also being designed.
