This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are an amazing, diverse and energetic group of students that have numerous disabilities and are English Language Learners. They range from Kindergarten to 4th grade and are just full of life.

They have the excitement in learning and look forward to new opportunities to explore new information.

They are all unique in their learning, however, they all really enjoy technology! Even the most emergent of my students have shown an interest and preference in technology.

They all always come anticipating what their next learning adventure will be!

My Project

I am an ENL (English as a new language) teacher for students with special needs. Our school is a district 75 school that services students that have moderate to severe disabilities. This larger iPad would benefit my students as many of them have challenges with fine motor skills and this larger screen will support them in actively participating throughout lessons.

Many of my students have challenges staying on task for prolonged periods of time and get easily distracted.

This iPad will help me create lessons that are technology-based and will provide colors and interactive opportunities for maximum engagement.

I do not have a Smartboard or Promethean board where I provide services for my students, therefore, this larger iPad will allow opportunities for displaying lessons within my room on technology and encourage students to stay engaged and also participate.
