My fourth-grade scholars walk into our classroom full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day in math class! I love teaching these types of learners!
They are dreamers, mathematicians, scientists, thinkers, talkers, and questioners.
In addition, they are 21st Century learners. As educators, we must embrace the scholars of today and their unique style of learning. That is where flexible seating comes in. To learn more about flexible seating, watch this powerful video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6vVXmwYvgs&feature=youtu.be
My scholars love to work around our classroom, not just at their desks! Our school embraces flexible seating and one of my scholars go-to places to work is the floor. At the moment, the only type of seating we have for the floor is a small area rug and our floor is too cold (and hard) to work on it without something to sit on. I would love for my scholars to have a big, colorful carpet to work on. We average between 25-29 scholars in our fourth-grade classrooms so this large rug would be ideal for us and rugs can be so expensive! Please consider donating to our project! Thank you!
