Have you ever sat down to learn to do computer programming or create cad designs at a computer that was older than you? This is exactly what my students are facing right now. The computers in our library are nearly as old as they are and will not even run the websites needed. We need your help!
My students are a true melting pot of many different cultures.
Our population is 47% free and reduced lunch and 61% minority with a mix of 25% Black, 23% Hispanic, 8% Asian, 37% White, and 7% Multi-Ethnic. We have over 50 students attending our Makerspace program and 15 attending our robotics team program with a very active Math League teams and a new Science Olympiad program. All of these STEM programs require computers that we are lacking to give to these students who are showing an interest in STEM.
My Project
Our students will use the laptops to learn computer programming, do research for their Science Olympiad projects, program their Lego robots, design things to print on the 3D printer and do research for their class projects. These STEM focused projects along with their regular core subjects require better computer hardware than we are supplying currently.
Your donations will help our students pursue their interests in STEM projects in our MakerSpace program, robotics program, computer programming, and Science Olympiad along with their normal everyday classroom activities.
You will help lead them into the future with these laptops.
