I teach 5th grade ELA and social studies in a departmentalized setting. My school is situated in an urban environment. We have been struggling in the pandemic and have lost a beloved coworker due to Covid. It has been a struggle for our school community as a whole. We have had to endure loss as well as struggle to teach with limited resources. My students are a diverse bunch and are so motivated to learn. However, due to the lack of technology, they are finding it difficult to keep up with our rigorous curriculum. I am respectfully requesting 65 laptops be donated to my classroom as well as a printer and desktop computer with a monitor. Our school has distributed devices to students throughout the district but more is needed for our scholars in need. Please fund my project so I can continue to teach my scholars and give them a voice in their community! Thank you for the opportunity to express my thoughts and feelings!
My Project
I've requested laptops to be donated because we are in desperate need for technological devices. Our school has distributed laptops district-wide and now hybrid-learning will be phased out so our all our students will return on-site. We have been struggling a great deal during this difficult time.
It is imperative that our scholars receive the best education possible!
I do not expect any less that I would want my own children to have. Therefore, I respectfully request my project be funded so I can continue the good fight! My scholars deserve devices that they can utilize for reading, writing, and research. In addition, I need to monitor student growth and use online reading programs that focuses on phonics, vocabulary, and word work.
In essence, without technological devices, moving students forward is extremely difficult. Students need to receive an education worthy in today's global market. They need to have a voice in their communities and using technology in the classroom will enable them to become effective citizens in our society. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to express my need to give my scholars the best education possible.
