Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our class is a 12:1:1 special needs kindergarten classroom. My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. Our school serves students in grades K-8 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment.
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 80% of our students receiving free lunch.
My students have come from many different and often difficult situations. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet.
My Project
My Kindergarten Special Education students are in desperate need of technology to help engage them in their learning process. At the moment we only have one working computer in the classroom and it is old and extremely slow.
There are so many wonderful online programs that my students would greatly benefit from that they are currently missing out on.
They will be able to use the laptops for ELA and Math centers and I believe they will help them become engaged and excited about learning!
For a lot of my students school is the only place they are introduced to technology and all of the wonderful things it provides. My students tend to be in and out of shelters and school is their only outlet to the positive things that this life has to offer! I can ensure you that your donation will be appreciated beyond words!
