This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am in a Title I school where 95 % of my students do not have access to computers at home and due to limited funding by the state, there are not a lot of computers per teacher. Technology is a crucial component of our school, and I want to give my students the same opportunities as other children. It is imperative to me that my students feel equipped for learning.

I have 19 amazing retained third graders in my class.

My class consists of all retained students. All of them struggle with reading comprehension and were not able to pass the state assessment. Many of them are in single-parent family homes. However, they come to school ready to learn. This is in large part due to the wonderful things happening at our school. I am committed to helping my students master third grade and pass the state exam this year. My students enjoy learning and have made personal learning goals for this school year. I want to see them reach their goals and you can help!

My Project

I am requesting two laptops to help differentiate instruction during small group time during the reading block. These resources can make a significant impact in my classroom. My students will be able to use it to engage in individualized lessons during reading centers. Students who are struggling will get the extra support they need, and it can help my English Language Learners also.

My students simply do not have access to the technology they should.

These laptops will allow them access to digital resources and content that make learning more engaging and fun.
